{"id":141,"date":"2010-04-23T23:27:16","date_gmt":"2010-04-24T07:27:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lacocotteverte.com\/?p=141"},"modified":"2025-09-05T12:10:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T20:10:19","slug":"shrimp-deviled-eggs-with-piment-despelette","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lacocotteverte.com\/?p=141","title":{"rendered":"Shrimp Deviled Eggs with Piment d\u2019Espelette"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lacocotteverte.com\/wp-content\/images\/shrimp-deviled-eggs.jpg\" alt=\"Shrimp Deviled Eggs with Piment dEspelette\" \/><br \/>\n<em>&mdash; Makes 8<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Recipe courtesy of <a href=\"www.luisascatering.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luisa&#8217;s Catering<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A delicious and easy appetizer for Easter or any other special occasion! <\/p>\n<p>*Items marked in <span class = \"ingredient\">green<\/span> are available from The Gourmet Corner<\/p>\n<p><em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 lemon<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic cloves, peeled &#038; slightly crushed<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon red pepper flakes<\/li>\n<li>1 turkish bay leaf<\/li>\n<li>A few sprigs of fresh parsley (plus additional for garnish)<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon coarse salt<\/li>\n<li>8 large shrimp (15 ct), peeled and deveined<\/li>\n<li>4 hard-boiled eggs, peeled<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons <span class = \"ingredient\">Delouis Aioli<\/span> (or mayonnaise)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon <span class = \"ingredient\">Piment d&#8217;Espelette<\/span><br \/>\n<span class = \"ingredient\">Piment d\u2019Espelette<\/span> for finishing<\/li>\n<li><span class = \"ingredient\">\u201cSel de Camargue\u201d Fleur de sel<\/span> for finishing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Prepare shrimp cooking liquid by placing 1 quart water into a saucepan. Cut lemon in half, squeeze juice into water and add lemon half to pan. Add garlic, red pepper flakes, bay leaf, parsley and salt. Bring to boil. <\/p>\n<p>Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink (about 30 seconds), drain and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Cut eggs in half and scoop yolks into a small bowl. Smash yolks with a fork and stir in aioli (or mayonnaise), piment d&#8217;Espelette. Pipe or spoon the egg yolk filling into the egg white halves.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tip: before filling the egg white, slice of a tiny sliver off the bottom of the egg. This will prevent the egg from sliding around on the serving plate.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Plating<\/h4>\n<p>Thread 1 shrimp onto each skewer and stick end of skewer gently into each egg. Sprinkle serving plate with minced parsley and arrange eggs on plate.
